02

What happens during the first session?
During the first session at Montville Counseling Center, we provide a warm welcome and a safe environment for you to express your emotions and feelings in a non-judgmental space. This conversation helps us understand what you are experiencing and explore how therapy or life coaching can best support you.

03

How long does therapy take to work?
That depends on each individual’s struggles, the desire to work through those issues, and the willingness to commit to the process of getting better. Some people begin to feel relief after a few sessions, while others benefit from longer support. Every journey is unique.

04

Is everything I say confidential?
Everything you share is absolutely confidential. The only exception is what is known as the duty to warn, which applies if there is an intention to harm yourself or others. Outside of those rare circumstances, your privacy is respected and protected.

We typically recommend starting with weekly sessions to build momentum and support progress. As you continue to move forward, sessions can adjust based on your needs and goals. We are always willing to work with you to find a schedule that feels most helpful.

We make every effort to work with your insurance and apply those benefits toward your therapy or life coaching sessions whenever possible. Our team can also help guide you through the process so you understand your available options.

FAQ Coaching

01

What does a life coach do?
A life coach helps you get unstuck, set clear goals, build better habits, and move forward toward the future you actually want. Life coaching focuses on helping you gain clarity, direction, and the confidence to take meaningful steps toward personal growth and success.

02

How do I choose the right life coach?
You need a life coach who is tuned into your values and your feelings, but who also makes you feel comfortable and safe sharing your struggles in a confidential setting. The right life coach should create a supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and encouraged.

03

Do life coaches give me advice or tell me what to do?
Good coaches don’t tell you what to do. Instead, they explore with you a variety of options that are tailored to your success. A life coach helps guide the conversation so you can discover the path that aligns with your goals and values.

04

How long does it take to see results?
We as coaches are committed to helping you move toward your success as quickly as possible, but the variables in life will be a determining factor. Everyone’s journey is different, and progress often depends on commitment, consistency, and willingness to work through challenges.

Can a life coach help with my career, relationships, and my self-esteem?
Absolutely. Our life coaches will join with you to resolve the variety of issues that life throws throughout your journey. Whether it involves career direction, relationships, or building confidence and self-esteem, life coaching can help you move forward with clarity and purpose.
